Empoli and Liechtenstein midfielder Marcel Buchel warns Italy “will meet a tough side and I’ll ask Lorenzo Insigne for his jersey.”

The World Cup qualifier kicks off in Vaduz on Saturday at 19.45 GMT.

“The Azzurri will meet a tough side, so we must be more determined and allow them very little leeway,” said Buchel in his Press conference.

“We must focus on being concentrated in defence and keeping a clean sheet, then after that we’ll try to make the most of any counter-attack opportunities.”

Liechtenstein are bottom of the group and were crushed 8-0 by Spain, although it was only 1-0 up until the 55th minute.

“In the locker room we have talked about our statistics. Italy are not like Spain, a side who score many goals, so it’ll be a real test for them, especially as the Azzurri have so many new players, a new Coach and system.

“I don’t think Spain are better than Italy, they simply have different playing styles. In terms of tactics, nobody’s stronger than Italy.”

Buchel plays in Serie A, so knows many of the Nazionale stars already, having been at Juventus, Gubbio, Siena, Cremonese, Virtus Lanciano and Bologna.

“It’ll be a wonderful experience to face Gigi Buffon. I will ask Insigne for his jersey, even if naturally I’d like to have everyone’s shirt!”
