Former Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic could be in trouble as part of the Football Leaks financial scandal.

According to the investigation, there is some doubt over who the €11m fee was paid to when the Nerazzurri signed the player from Dinamo Zagreb. The allegegation is that 50% of the player's rights at the time were held by unknown investors in Hong Kong.

The player, now owned by Real Madrid, moved to Inter in January 2013 and FCinter1908.it report that the club insist that the entire fee was paid to the Ukrainian side.

"We paid all the money for the transfer of Kovacic to Dinamo," Inter Chief Communications Officer Robert Faulkner told the Press.

"We can confirm that Dinamo received 100% of the amount that was paid by Inter.

"We have no knowledge of any other payments for Kovacic."
