Andrea Bertolacci admits Milan “needed those two slaps in the face after gifting the first half” to Torino in a 2-2 draw.

The Granata were 2-0 up at the break and saw Gigio Donnarumma save an Adem Ljajic penalty, but Bertolacci and a Carlos Bacca penalty completed the comeback.

“We did not play like Milan in the first half, but we showed quality after the break,” the midfielder told Mediaset Premium.

“We did not play like Milan in the first half, but we showed quality after the break,” the midfielder told Mediaset Premium.

“Getting those two slaps in the face was useful, as we needed waking up. It was a very different game in the second half and it’s a pity we gifted 45 minutes.

“It was an important match, but there’s a long way to go this season. It’s up to us, but we have to do better in the first halves.”

Milan go into the showdown with Napoli this weekend, but Manuel Locatelli and Alessio Romagnoli will be suspended.
