The Rossoblu were down to nine men when Marco Borriello fired in the decisive free kick for 1-1.

“It’s painful to lose two points this way, even if Cagliari did put us under pressure at times,” said the Coach.

“I don’t think Federico Viviani’s red card was fair, while Borriello appeared to be offside when Emil Krafth brought him down. Some refereeing decisions did penalise us.

“Considering how the game was going, it is two points lost rather than one gained. We suffered a bit too much in the first half, but after the break did well to make the most of Cagliari’s dip in concentration and strike at the right moment.

“I’m happy Mattia Destro broke his drought and I always told him, the closer a striker is to the goal, the more likely he is to score. He’s gaining confidence and that’s important both for him and the team.”
