Omar El Kaddouri’s agent, Mino Raiola, says the winger is “glad to be free of Maurizio Sarri, not Napoli”.

The Moroccan international left the Partenopei yesterday to join Empoli, having played just 39 minutes all season.

“We couldn’t come to an agreement with Napoli,” Raiola explained to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“He was going out of contract and there’s a special relationship between Napoli and Empoli, who convinced us with an interesting project.

“Omar hasn’t played much, but not because of his quality. The culprit is one man, and his name is Maurizio Sarri.

“He has never been clear with him. He’s say ‘if you renew, you’ll play’ and then he didn’t put him on the list for the Champions League and the relationship was broken.

“Jose Callejon was ahead of him? Yes, but it’s important to be clear. If someone says ‘you’re strong, you’ll play’ and then you don’t play…

“We’re happy to be free of Sarri, not Napoli.

“Omar was a man and said there was no point in staying without playing. He proved his worth at Torino, but Napoli didn’t want to lose him. You’d have to ask Sarri about the other things.

“If Sarri had behaved with Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] the way he did with Omar… Let’s just say it would be best for him to take a boat and go to the beach.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis? He’s an atypical President, a strong personality. Napoli are where they are because of him.”

Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that Raiola was given a 20 per cent commission on the fee which took El Kaddouri to Empoli, taking €300,000 from the €1.5m transfer.
