According to RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain have identified Napoli star Kvicha Kvaratskhelia as the ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappé next season.

The France international is set to leave as a free agent in the summer and everyone has known for some time he is heading towards Real Madrid.

It had already been suggested that PSG were looking towards Serie A for his replacement, with names including Rafael Leao of Milan and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

However, RMC Sport in France now report that Kvaratskhelia has been pin-pointed by coach Luis Enrique as the number one priority for the role.

Kvaratskhelia targeted by PSG

The 23-year-old Georgia international is under contract until June 2027, but has been discussing a new deal with very different salary figures following his extraordinary debut campaign.

His second season hasn’t been anywhere near as impressive, in part because Napoli as a whole struggled in the post-Scudetto period, but he still contributed 10 goals and nine assists in 42 competitive appearances.

RMC Sport insist Kvaratskhelia’s entourage showed themselves to be ‘enthusiastic’ about the idea of joining Paris Saint-Germain.

However, there is no agreement with the player or Napoli, who is valued at €120m.

Kvaratskhelia joined the Partenopei for just €13.3m from Dinamo Batumi in the summer of 2022.
