Palermo have insisted that Abel Hernandez will not be following Javier Pastore out of the club this summer.
The Argentine has been sold to Paris SG for €43m and Hernandez is said to be of interest to Roma.
"Hernandez is not for sale," Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini told Roma Giallorossa in an interview.
"He's the only centre-forward that we have and we're keeping a tight grip on him," the chief continued.
"Even if a big offer was tabled then we wouldn't sell him. We've just received €43m for Pastore and we don't need the money.
"We believe in Hernandez and only if another striker was to arrive, such as Amauri of Juventus, then could we sell someone.
"However, that is not to say that it would be Abel who would be sold. I also want to make it clear that we have received no offers for him not even from Roma."
The Uruguayan, 21, joined Palermo in 2009 from Penarol.
