Catania striker Maxi Lopez is reportedly on the verge of joining Serie A rivals Fiorentina.
It was believed that the Argentine would be staying at the Massimino, but the Viola have come in with an offer.
Lopez has spent the last 18 months in Italy after impressing during a brief spell with Gremio.
In 52 League games for the Rossoblu, the South American has netted 19 goals in total.
Lopez's proposed move to Fiorentina could now see the Viola cash in on Italian international Alberto Gilardino.
The latter has been linked with Villarreal, Genoa, Marseille and Paris SG over the last few weeks.
