Enrique on transfers and Azzurri

Roma boss Luis Enrique has talked transfers and international football after Italy's 2-1 win over Spain on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of the Giallorossi's trip to Valencia for a friendly, the tactician discussed a number of market matters.

Speculation suggests that Roma could sell Marco Borriello and David Pizarro this summer, but the Spaniard insists they are key to his squad.

"I have no problems with Borriello or Pizarro," he noted. "They are giving me their best and they are important players for me. I'm counting on them 100 per cent."

The ex-Barcelona and Real Madrid player was also asked for his opinion on Pablo Osvaldo of Espanyol and Villarreal's Nilmar – players paired with La Magica.

"Rather than choosing between Osvaldo and Nilmar, it'd be nice to have both," he smiled.

"There needs to be some patience, it's not easy to just sign the players that you want. This is how the market works.

"I don't know if I will have any new players before or after the Europa League tie against Slovan Bratislava next week.

"Obviously I'd like them sooner rather than later."

The former Barcelona B boss was also inevitably asked for his thoughts on the Azzurri's 2-1 win over Spain on Wednesday.

"It was a friendly, but I did like how Italy played in the first half," he added. "They pressured Spain and played the ball well. I like that a lot.

"Spain had a few injuries and a lot of absences, as well as the kind of pressure they have never experienced before given that they are the European and world champions.

"However, you can't really judge the strength of teams in games like this. We'll have to wait until the European championships."
