Sebastien Frey was the superstar with a series of crucial saves as Genoa earned an impressive 2-1 victory away to Sporting Gijon.
The Grifone had the friendly test sealed up by half-time, as Pratto's screamer of a right-foot strike under the bar and Rodrigo Palacio on the counter-attack scored the decisive goals at the Molinon stadium.
Summer signing Frey was also key, as the former Fiorentina goalkeeper needed at least five excellent saves on Las Cuevas, Damian and Gregory after the break to keep the victory safe.
Gijon did get a goal back, but only thanks to an unlucky Marco Rossi deflection to turn the Sergio Alvarez effort past Frey.
