Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirms Houssine Kharja's move to Fiorentina and “next week will be decisive for Alberto Gilardino. I'm optimistic.”
The Grifone earned an impressive 2-1 victory away to Sporting Gijon last night and are building a solid squad for this season.
“There are negotiations for Gilardino,” the patron told Sky Sport Italia. “Nothing has been finalised yet, but next week will be decisive, as there is an important meeting planned.
“Am I optimistic? I'm always optimistic. We will do everything we can to bring Gilardino to Genoa.
“As far as I know, the player wants to make the transfer and join us, so... With Gilardino, we would further raise the bar.”
Talks with Fiorentina are also on for another exchange, as midfielder Kharja is on the verge of making the move to the Stadio Franchi.
“I think Kharja will go to Fiorentina, as we have already reached an agreement,” added Preziosi.
“We have a good rapport and they only need to agree personal terms with the player, which I doubt will be difficult.”
