Davide Santon is on the verge of leaving Inter after undergoing a medical at Newcastle United on Tuesday.
The young left-back will join the Premiership club on a permanent basis in a €5m deal. That fee could rise by a further €1m depending on bonuses.
Santon was given his chance at Inter by former boss Jose Mourinho, but he's struggled to progress and spent the last six months of 2010-11 on loan at Cesena.
The Under-21 international captain, who has won seven caps at full international level, was also linked with a possible move to Roma.
