Fiorentina will soon meet with the agent of Stevan Jovetic to offer him a contract extension until 2016.
The Montenegro international was linked with a move away this summer when Chelsea and Napoli were associated.
However, the 2008 signing from Partizan Belgrade committed his future to the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit.
"I have received a lot of messages from fans who have asked me to stay at Fiorentina," the attacking midfielder noted last month.
"I'm very happy here and it is an honour for me to be named as the new vice-captain of the team by the Coach.
"My desire is to continue wearing the Viola jersey and to win as much as possible with this club."
It's being claimed that Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has already begun work on a contract extension offer that will soon be presented to the player.
Jovetic is now back to full fitness for the campaign ahead after he missed all of 2010-11 because of a knee injury he picked up last summer.
