Cesena have admitted that the capture of Adrian Mutu helped them lure other players during the summer.
The Romanian was surprisingly netted from Fiorentina and he was later joined by Antonio Candreva, Gianluca Comotto and Jorge Martinez at the Stadio Manuzzi.
"Mutu unblocked our market," sporting director Lorenzo Minotti told Radio Sportiva. "Once he arrived, other important players followed.
"We're very happy with what we managed to do over the summer. Our year in Serie A helped and we were also able to attract an important Coach like Marco Giampaolo."
Although Cesena have lost Yuto Nagatomo to Inter and Emanuele Giaccherini to Juventus, Marco Parolo has remained.
"We wanted to keep him," the former Italian international defender added. "We didn't receive any exaggerated offers for him.
"Parolo has become an important reference point for us. If he mirrors what he did last season then he'll again be a wanted man.
"Who wanted him this summer? Fiorentina and especially Cagliari."
