Milan ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic has declared himself fit to face Lazio on Friday. "We're still the best."
The Serie A campaign will finally kick off tomorrow and Ibra is ready to feature despite being troubled by an ankle problem.
"My ankle is now fine and therefore I'll play against Lazio," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday.
"I can't wait for the season to begin after the start was postponed because of the strike.
"To be honest, I don't totally understand why we did strike. All I know is that we can now finally get under way."
Milan dominated the championship last term and the Swedish international is confident that his side have only improved over the summer.
"We'll still be the favourites," he added. "We come out of the transfer market as a stronger squad. We're even better than last term. I like all of the summer signings."
When asked about city rivals Inter and European champions Barcelona, who they play next week, Ibra insisted he was just focused on the Diavolo.
"I don't know if Inter are weaker after the sale of Samuel Eto'o, you'll have to ask them," he continued.
"Milan are in my mind, I'm not thinking about others. Not even Barcelona. My first objective is to do well against Lazio."
