Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle personally offered a new contract extension to Riccardo Montolivo last night.
The club owner had stated he would meet with the player, whose current deal expires in June 2012, ahead of the Serie A opener with Bologna.
It is reported Della Valle met with Montolivo and President Mario Cognini, proposing a long-term contract with a wage increase.
The former captain had rejected several extensions over the last few months and turned down a move to Roma.
Della Valle said he wanted “a yes or no answer,” and it's now rumoured the deadline is the end of next week.
