Mazzarri ignores Mancini taboo

Walter Mazzarri is ignoring the fact that he has never beaten a side bossed by Roberto Mancini ahead of Manchester City-Napoli.

The two teams meet in the Champions League on Wednesday in a game where the former Inter boss seemingly has the advantage.

"I'm not looking at the fact that I haven't beaten him yet in a match," the Azzurri tactician commented.

"I respect him as a Coach, he has great value and has been working with teams of a certain level for many years now.

"Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis says that I'm better than him? Let's just leave it…"

The Premiership outfit will begin the game as favourites for victory, but Mazzarri has no fear of the tie.

"We're going to Manchester to play our game," he underlined. "After all, we do that in every game that we face.

"Napoli have already done well in games outside of the peninsula during the Europa League.

"In terms of performances, we were good enough last season. Let's hope we can do well again. We have no fear and we'll do our best."

Napoli started the Serie A campaign with a 3-1 win against Cesena on Saturday night.
