Palermo ace Abel Hernandez insists that he had no idea that he was wanted by Roma during the summer.
"I knew nothing about it," the Uruguayan told Sky Sport Italia. "I wasn't aware that the Giallorossi were chasing me.
"I was told of the newspaper reports, yet I was busy playing the Copa America with my country and I was just concentrated on that.
"Perhaps my agent knew something about it."
Hernandez, 21, remained at the Stadio Barbera and he left his mark on the opening round of games this weekend.
The striker scored in Palermo's 4-3 win over Inter last night, while Roma lost 2-1 at home to Cagliari.
The South American, also associated with Juventus, is contracted to the Stadio Renzo Barbera outfit until June 2013.
