Guidolin wants more from Udinese

Despite the 2-1 win against Rennes, Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin insists his side are making too many mistakes.

The Bianconeri came from a goal down against their French opponents last night to secure a Europa League victory at the Stadio Friuli.

"The result is satisfying, but there is much work to do," the former Parma and Vicenza boss suggested.

"This is a new Udinese side with new players, with youngsters whom it is hard to communicate with.

"We know what problems we have to overcome."

Udinese finished fourth last term in Serie A, but the summer sales of Cristian Zapata, Gokhan Inler and Alexis Sanchez has redefined their objectives.

"Our first aim is to avoid relegation," Guidolin noted. "We must improve to do that because we are committing a lot of silly errors.

"As for the Europa League, we're in a tough group seeing as we'll also face Atletico Madrid and Celtic.

"We'll just try to do our best in all three competitions that we are in."

Udinese are back in action on Sunday when they entertain Fiorentina in Serie A.
