Francesco Guidolin thinks it will take a “super Udinese” to get the better of Fiorentina this afternoon.
The Friulani appear to have recovered from their Champions League play-off defeat to Arsenal, beating Lecce and Rennes over the last week.
“Good results boost confidence, that is beyond doubt,” said the Coach. “Those two performances will not be enough against Fiorentina, though.
“The Viola are strong, have quality, organisation and talent. Now the squad is fully in tune with Sinisa Mihajlovic and you can see his mark on the side, while I think it could be Alessio Cerci's season.
“We need a super Udinese to beat them. Of course, we also have our characteristics, quality and virtues. We must be aggressive to intercept passes and get to the ball first. I want to see the team work as a unit.”
Guidolin hinted he could change his tactics for this game, switching to the experimental 4-3-1-2.
“One of our best games of last season had that system, when we beat Palermo. I have many players and options, so we know the three-man defence, but have never ruled out four at the back.”
