Javier Zanetti is “proud” to make history this evening with a record 757th appearance in the Inter shirt.
The captain matched Giuseppe Bergomi's tally against Roma and tonight in Novara will become the lone all-time top Nerazzurri player.
“Inter is a big family for me and like my second home,” confessed the Argentine to Sky Sport Italia.
“I never would've thought that I'd have a career like this. I have been captain of such an important club and that is priceless.
“Matching Bergomi's record was a source of pride.”
Zanetti could add many more to his tally, as the 38-year-old barely misses a game between Serie A, the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
“I always prepare the best possible way for everything I do. I've always had great enthusiasm and the desire to improve myself.”
‘Pupi' played his first game for Inter in a 1-0 Serie A home victory against Vicenza on August 27, 1995.
