Pasquale Marino has refused to comment on speculation that Lazio have been in contact with him with regards the possibility of replacing Edy Reja.
Talking to calciomercato.it, the former Catania, Udinese and Parma Coach refused to comment when asked directly if the Aquile had contacted him amid the uncertainty over current Coach Reja's future.
"The rumours to Lazio? I will not comment on things that do not exist."
Speculation is that whilst Reja has confirmed with the players and the squad his intention to stay until at least the end of the season after a chaotic 24 hours, that there is the belief that his position is less secure than before.
It is thought that now that Reja has made clear he is not happy with the level of criticism faced after the weekend loss, that subsequent defeats during the campaign could again force him to reconsider his position.
Marino is speculated to be one of several candidates lined up to step in, whilst Delio Rossi is another. Marino joked he is happy in his current situation, before reflecting on the start to the season.
"I am fine without a club at the moment. Seriously though, for several years now have entered this context where there is a rush to get results, otherwise you change Coach.
"The surprises in the League since the start? I did not expect Milan and Roma to have just a point each after two games, but eventually their true values will come out.
"Napoli and Juventus have squads that will allow them to compete and fight until the end of the season."
