“It's a shame we can't celebrate being the Serie A leaders,” said Stefano Colantuono after Atalanta's 10th point of the campaign.
The club started with a six-point penalty due to a betting scandal that struck captain Cristiano Doni, but are already on four points in the table thanks to three wins and a draw.
“It's a shame we can't celebrate being Serie A leaders,” said the Coach.
“Unfortunately, the reality of the situation says we have four points. That still makes us happy, as it means we have emerged from this very difficult situation.”
The 2-1 victory over Novara was controversial, as Pablo Granoche's potential equaliser was incorrectly ruled offside in stoppages.
“I won't judge that incident, as errors do even each other out over the course of a season. I will say for 80 minutes we dominated the game with two goals and hit the woodwork. We were a little tired towards the end.”
