Tacchinardi tips Napoli to beat Villarreal

Former Villarreal midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi has tipped Napoli to come out on top on Wednesday night.

The 36-year-old made 45 appearances for the Spanish side in a two-year spell that included reaching the Champions League semi-finals in 2006. However, he has reflected on the task facing his former team, and hinted at an advantage lying with Napoli.

"Villarreal's President is ambitious, he has built a competitive team through shrewd investment. Napoli, however, have players for every game.

"[Villarreal Coach Juan Carlos] Garrido does not have many alternatives, in fact, there are no options to replace Borja Valero and Giuseppe Rossi."

Tacchinardi then told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli of his views on the differences between the Italian and Spanish leagues at the moment, before reflecting on Walter Mazzarri's tasks to balance a heavy fixture list.

"A balanced championship? It is more fun than the Spanish. At least in Italy there is a balance and each game has no foregone conclusion.

"Mazzarri's team is playing so much, the schedule is tight and they are not used to this rota yet. Mazzarri is doing a great job, but in my own analysis, these factors have contributed to the defeat against Chievo."
