Inter President Massimo Moratti can see “character and good football” from the side under Claudio Ranieri.
The patron was more and more confident he made the right decision to fire Gian Piero Gasperini after the new Coach notched up back-to-back wins in Serie A and the Champions League.
“I saw a team with character and the hunger to rediscover itself,” Moratti told Rai Sport after the 3-2 victory against CSKA Moscow.
“As well as character, I saw good football for long periods of the game. I am happy that Mauro Zarate got a goal.
“Everything is going very well.”
The President was asked if the changes Ranieri made were so simple as returning to four at the back.
“It seems that way and we hope it can continue like this. The most wonderful surprise? I'm just glad that what happened did indeed happen.”
