Salvatore Aronica thinks this is “the perfect time” for Napoli to end their San Siro taboo against Inter.
The two sides go head-to-head on Saturday evening and the Partenopei haven't won here in Serie A since 1994, while that is their only League victory at San Siro since 1968.
“In these last few years we have broken many taboos and now is the perfect time to destroy this one too,” said the defender on Radio Marte.
“Inter are very strong and we don't have a great tradition at San Siro, but hope to put an end to these negative statistics.
“Compared to last season, we are more aware of our own strength and the Champions League games also helped us to cancel certain fears.
“We're having a great start to the campaign and hope to continue like this. The club signed quality players and we have the possibility of going all the way in every tournament.
“That includes the Champions League, where on Tuesday against Villarreal the atmosphere was indescribable. It is partly thanks to that support that we were able to play such a fantastic opening half-hour to seal the game.”
Aronica picked up an injury during that 2-0 victory and remains a doubt to face Inter on Saturday night.
“In theory I ought to make it, though I'm still undergoing treatment.”
