Francesco Totti risks missing the Rome derby after he was diagnosed with a thigh strain, confirmed the Roma website.
The captain limped off clutching the back of his leg during Saturday's 3-1 win over Atalanta.
The official club website stated that this morning's tests found a lesion in the right thigh and the injury will be re-evaluated over the next few days.
Totti will begin a rehabilitation programme on Monday, but it is a race against time to recover for the showdown with Lazio in two weeks' time.
