Fabio Cannavaro admits he’s cheering on Napoli this evening, although he invites Alessandro Del Piero to join him in Dubai.
Like Ciro Ferrara, Cannavaro is torn between the two biggest clubs in his career at the San Paolo tonight.
“I remain very grateful to Juve for all they have done, but I am Neapolitan,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Besides, my brother Paolo is playing tonight, so I have to cheer on the Cannavaro family!”
The 2006 World Cup winner is currently in Dubai working as a director after he hung up his boots this summer.
With Del Piero confirming he wants to continue playing even after his contract with Juventus expires in June, Canna has a proposal.
“I don’t know what Ale’s intentions are and I’m not in charge of the transfer market, but I’d welcome someone like him without the slightest hesitation. He’s a great champion and also a friend.”
There are other reports that Del Piero has offers from the Premier League, as Tuttosport suggests Tottenham and West Ham are interested in giving the 37-year-old a new lease of life.
