Attilio Tesser is very impressed with tonight's opponents Roma, although “Novara will play our usual attacking game.”
The 19.45 UK time kick-off this evening at the Stadio Silvio Piola sees Luis Enrique try to put the recent disappointing results behind him.
“Roma are a strong side with a specific tactical approach,” said the Novara Coach.
“So far this season they are the team who impressed me the most in terms of tactics and movement.
“However, we will play our usual attacking game, with our intensity and the characteristics that stand us apart. We've got to cover the pitch well and have a consistently positive mentality without fear.
“Thanks to their new system, Roma have a way of playing that is different to all the other teams in Serie A. They keep possession, are very organised and try to keep control of the tempo throughout.
“It's more of a Spanish mentality than an Italian one. We could use Takayuki Morimoto from the start, as he's very fast and can be an important weapon against Roma, especially on a wet pitch.”
Novara have to do without defender Andrea Lisuzzo for the next three months, as he underwent surgery for a fractured foot on Friday in Madrid.
Samir Ujkani, Carlalberto Ludi and Paolo Hernan Dellafiore are also sidelined, so there are precious few options in defence.
“Marco Rigoni didn't train on Friday morning due to a back problem, but we trust he'll be ready for the game.”
