Davide Ballardini is the hot favourite to be named as the new Coach of Cagliari after Massimo Ficcadenti was sacked.
The latter was surprisingly shown the door late last night after going five games without a win in Serie A.
Ballardini, according to speculation, will sign a contract until June 2013 with the Stadio Sant’Elia outfit.
The Coach is set to accept the job offer after rejecting approaches from Bologna and Cesena earlier this season.
The 47-year-old, who left Genoa in the summer, has actually bossed the Sardinian outfit in two previous spells at the club.
