Lazio are monitoring Lukas Podolski as he edges closer to the end of his contract with German club FC Koln.
According to reports in Italy, the capital outfit are interested in signing Podolski in an effort to reunite him with Miroslav Klose.
The two played together at Bayern Munich and are still international colleagues for the German national side.
Podolski, 26, is a versatile forward who can also ben used in a wide position when necessary.
The Polish-born German international is contracted to his present club until June 2013 and it is claimed that he has no intention of renewing that agreement.
Lazio could make a bid as soon as January in an effort to aid their efforts to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Klose moved to the Biancocelesti from Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer and he’s been an instant success at the Stadio Olimpico.
