Adriano Galliani has ruled Milan out of the running to sign unsettled Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.
The Argentina international has submitted a transfer request at Eastlands, which has been rejected.
Tevez has fallen out with the club's executives and would like to be closer to his two daughters who live in Buenos Aires.
He has intimated in the past that retirement isn't entirely out of the question, although interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea is also being reported.
"Tevez is great, but Milan can't make an investment like that," Galliani admitted.
"If we find a forward who looks like a Milan player we will sign him, otherwise we'll stay like this," he concluded.
