Milan have confirmed that they will be without first choice goalkeeper Christian Abbiati for up to two weeks.
The custodian has picked up a right shoulder injury which saw him forced out of Sunday’s 4-0 win over Chievo.
The veteran has undergone a variety of tests which have ruled out the need for any kind of surgical procedure.
The Rossoneri believe that Abbiati will fully recover in around 10-15 days unless complications arise during his rehabilitation.
Italian World Cup winner Marco Amelia will keep his place in goal when Milan play his former club Genoa on Friday.
Abbiati, 34, had appeared in all of the club’s League games this term up until the San Siro clash against the Flying Donkeys.
