Zeman: 'I'd never play Cassano'

Zdenek Zeman has surprisingly revealed that he would have no time for a player like Antonio Cassano.

The Czech tactician is renowned for lining up teams in an all-out attacking formation, so one would expect him to embrace a creative talent like Cassano.

However, the Italy international's histrionics have riled Zeman who backs Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone in his efforts to get Cassano's contract rescinded.

The arbitration panel is expected to deliver a verdict on Cassano's case some time this week amid reported interest from Italian champions Inter.

Cassano hasn't played since the end of October when he had a notorious argument with Garrone.

"If what Garrone says corresponds to the truth, then the decision to distance himself from Cassano is right," Zeman explained.

"In any case, I would never have Cassano in my team."
