Novara director of sport Mauro Pederzoli aimed a sideswipe at Inter, insisting they are “in the relegation battle.”
The Nerazzurri have had a difficult start to the campaign and are fifth from bottom, on a par with Siena and Bologna with 14 points, albeit with a game against Genoa in hand.
“Anyone below 15 points is in the relegation battle. Inter? Let’s say Inter are also in that fight,” Pederzoli told Radio Kiss Kiss.
One of the reasons the Nerazzurri are so far down the standings is their shock 3-1 defeat to Novara, which cost Gian Piero Gasperini his job.
“Novara have always made life difficult for everyone, but recently we’ve had too many injuries, especially in defence.
“We are alive and kicking, doing what we knew we had to do. We are determined that we’ll reach our objective.”
