Cagliari hatch Giovinco plan

Davide Ballardini believes he has the key to giving Cagliari victory against Parma: “Close down Sebastian Giovinco.”

The Sardinians prepare for today’s mid-table tussle, as just one point separates them going into this game.

“It is too early to say whether this can be a turning point for us,” noted the Coach.

“This is a very strange season with everyone picking up good results, so it is extremely balanced.

“In order to win this game, we must do well to close down the space around Giovinco and ensure he cannot play between the lines. Giovinco, but also Jonathan Biabiany, can really take control against any opponent if they have space.

“We too have players who can get past their man in the one-on-one. I have to decide between Thiago Ribeiro and Joaquin Larrivey for the attack. I want to see a more fluid and aggressive performance from Cagliari.”
