Lazio have confirmed that in-form goalkeeper Federico Marchetti could be out of action for the next month.
The summer signing from Cagliari, who appeared for Italy at the 2010 World Cup, picked up an injury in the 3-2 win at Lecce.
The shot-stopper underwent a number of scans on Monday which confirmed damage to the muscle in his right thigh.
Marchetti’s loss will be a big blow to the capital outfit following his stunning return to form this term after being left on the sidelines by Cagliari last season.
Lazio centre-back Giuseppe Biava also underwent tests today on his fitness.
He’ll undergo more examinations over the next 24 hours to see whether he’ll be available for this week’s Europa League tie against Sporting Lisbon.
