Genoa have become the latest club to be associated with a summer move for Cristian Chivu of Inter.
The Romanian international may be available on a Bosman free transfer given that his contract in Milan expires in June 2012.
Inter have yet to offer him an extension and it seems likely that he will quit the Stadio Meazza outfit at the end of the campaign.
Big clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester City – bossed by former Inter Coaches Jose Mourinho and Roberto Mancini respectively – have been paired with the player.
Genoa, though, are hoping that the prospect of regular first team football in his preferred centre-back role may tempt him to move to Marassi.
The 31-year-old, who has played in seven Serie A games so far this term, has regularly been used as a left-back by the Nerazzurri since his 2007 switch from Roma.
