Zenit St Petersburg boss Luciano Spalletti believes Milan can challenge Barcelona in this season’s Champions League.
The two teams have already faced each other in the group stages after a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou and a 3-2 win in Italy for the Spaniards.
Barcelona were crowned world champions on Sunday to underline their strength, but Spalletti has faith in the Rossoneri.
“I like Barcelona, but Milan are good,” the former Udinese and Roma tactician told Minuti di Recupero.
“Milan are the strongest side in the Italian championship and they are the prime candidates to win the Scudetto again.
“In my opinion, Milan are one of the few sides around who can challenge Barcelona right now.”
Milan, two points behind Serie A leaders Juventus, will face Arsenal in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Holders Barcelona will be up against German opposition Bayer Leverkusen when the European Cup resumes in February.
