Alberto Gilardino has given his first reaction to his anticipated January transfer from Fiorentina to Genoa.
After undergoing an hour-long medical at Genoa’s Laboratorio Albaro di Genova Gilardino gave a brief comment on the move that is expected to be finalised in time for January 3’s opening of the transfer window.
“I’ll speak more next week. Best wishes to all. I am happy to be here.”
The striker, who has endured one of his worst goal-scoring starts to a season in Italy, is reportedly set to be offered a four-year contract with the option for a fifth, with the Grifone expected to pay Fiorentina as much as €8m for his services.
