Lecce confirm their talks with Milan are on-going for Djamel Mesbah. “Undoubtedly it is flattering, but I am focused on the present.”
The defender has been pin-pointed as the ideal replacement for Taye Taiwo and negotiations began on Tuesday.
“It was a good meeting. They like the player and both clubs respect each other,” said Lecce director of sport Osti.
“Over the next few days we will have another meeting.”
Algerian left-back Mesbah himself was asked about the potential mid-season move to San Siro.
“Undoubtedly it is flattering, but I am focused on the present. You’d have to ask the club about this sort of thing.
“At the moment I cannot think about the transfer market. My attention is based only on daily work and specifically the upcoming game against Fiorentina.”
