Viola and Juve fight for Palombo

Fiorentina could reportedly wrap up a deal for Angelo Palombo over the next 48 hours, but Juventus are still interested.

Serie B side Sampdoria have made it clear that they will listen to offers for the 30-year-old during the January transfer session.

The Viola are very keen on adding him to their midfield and La Nazione is today claiming that the next two days could see an agreement reached.

According to the source, the Tuscan club will hand Doria the services of Gianni Munari plus around €4m in cash.

The Italian international – who joined Samp from Fiorentina in 2002 – will then sign a contract until June 2013, with an option for a further campaign.

However, conflicting reports are suggesting that Juve could hijack the move as they look for a new midfielder too.

League leaders Juve, held at home by Cagliari on Sunday, have also been heavily linked with Fiorentina’s Valon Behrami over the last week.
