Cagliari boss Davide Ballardini has hailed the ability of Rossoblu centre-back Davide Astori.
Speaking to Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport on Monday, the tactician was asked about the potential of his stopper.
“In my opinion he’s the best Italian defender that there is right now,” the former Lazio and Genoa Coach noted.
“If he isn’t the best then he is nevertheless amongst the very best.”
Astori, 25, has been at Cagliari since 2008 and is now a regular at the Stadio Sant’Elia. He’s made nine appearances this season.
The defender is also in the thoughts of Italy boss Cesare Prandelli. However, he’s only won one cap and was actually sent off in the March friendly win in Ukraine.
