Cesena’s Adrian Mutu insists he has no regrets about not completing a proposed move to Roma in 2008.
The Giallorossi, who will host Cesena this weekend, made a bid for the Romanian while he was at Fiorentina.
“I don’t regret it,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “I am satisfied with the decision I made in staying at Fiorentina.
“Saying that, Roma are a great side and Francesco Totti, who called to convince me to join, is a great player who I have always admired.”
Roma, seventh in the table, will entertain the struggling Seahorses who currently find themselves in the relegation zone.
“Roma will want to win at all costs to remain in the upper echelons of the table,” the forward continued. “They will be favourites on paper, but not on the pitch.
“We are missing a great result away from home this season and we can get that on Sunday in Rome. Cesena deserve to be in Serie A.”
The 33-year-old moved to the Stadio Manuzzi from Fiorentina in the summer. He has six goals in 15 Serie A games this term.
