Siena have cooled links with Luca Toni, while also commenting on the future of in-demand striker Mattia Destro.
The Tuscans are expected to freshen up their attacking options this month and Juve forward Toni has been mentioned.
“It’s a suggestive idea,” Siena sporting director Giorgio Perinetti told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “We have a good relationship with Juventus, however, it still remains a difficult path to go down.
“We’ll have to wait and see what happens in these last few days of the transfer market because there could always be a surprise…”
Perinetti was then questioned on Destro, the Under-21 international who is currently on loan from Genoa.
“If he continues to play like he is doing then he’ll be an object of desire for a lot of clubs,” the official added.
“A lot of big teams are taking an interest in him, including Inter and Milan.”
Siena will buy a 50 per cent share in Destro, who grew up in the Inter youth ranks, at the end of the season.
