Salvatore Aronica is on the verge of signing a new contract with Champions League outfit Napoli.
Aronica was linked with a switch to hometown club Palermo last month, but he remained in Naples and a fresh deal is now waiting for him.
“We are close to renewing the contract of Aronica,” agent Alessandro Moggi told Radio CRC. “All that is missing is the signature and that should come in the next few days.”
It’s expected that the defender will put pen to paper on an agreement until June 2013, with an option for another 12 months.
The 33-year-old has made 17 appearances in Serie A so far this season.
