Spalletti expects Capello arrival

Zenit St Petersburg boss Luciano Spalletti wouldn’t be surprised to see Fabio Capello join Anzhi.

The Italian tactician has been linked with the vacant position in Russia following his resignation from the England job last week.

“I know the power of owner Suleyman Kerimov,” the former Udinese and Roma tactician noted. “I am sure he will convince Capello to take over at Anzhi.

“How will he do it? By buying every great player that he asks for.”

Billionaire Kerimov underlined his potential in the summer when he tempted Samuel Eto’o to leave Inter for his club.

“Anzhi are not only Eto’o as there are other players of great value,” he continued. “The foundations of a real international operation are already there.

“Capello is a great Coach and he will help the club go to the next level. In the last two seasons, Kerimov has signed 11-12 players.

“Capello will find a world where there is a great desire to grow. My Zenit team are top at the moment and Anzhi are not the greatest threat, but in the future it will be a different story.”
