Sampdoria owner Riccardo Garrone has rubbished reports that Domenico Di Carlo is at risk of losing his job.
The Blucerchiati currently lie ninth in Serie A and had been on a three-game losing streak until Sunday's 2-1 win against Roma.
"Reading that Di Carlo is on the grill has bothered me a lot," Garrone said.
"Of course those journalists who claim to have an insight into the moment our team is going through also know little or nothing about the Coach and the modus operandi of our directors.
"They have also hurt Di Carlo, who first and foremost is a serious professional, but also an extraordinary person from a human point of view."
