Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has confirmed negotiations are at an advanced stage for Chelsea striker Fabio Borini.
“I want to clarify that for now the player still belongs to Chelsea,” the patron told Sky Sport Italia.
“It is an important transfer operation and we are optimistic that we can positively close the negotiations.”
The Under-21 international does not have much playing time at Stamford Bridge.
Like Azzurrini teammate Federico Macheda, who went on loan from Manchester United to Sampdoria, Borini is seeking first team football experience in Italy.
Borini would be able to work with and learn from former Chelsea veteran hitman Hernan Crespo.
