FIGC chief Abete: 'Italy authoritative'

FIGC President Giancarlo Abete was impressed with the “authoritative and confident” Italy performance in Germany.

The Azzurri fought back in Dortmund to earn a 1-1 international friendly draw last night with Giuseppe Rossi's goal.

“I saw an authoritative and confident Italy on the field, with a fluidity of football that at times had been lacking in previous games.

“We are back on track,” said President Abete. “It is too early to make a judgment call, but Cesare Prandelli has done well in handling this initial phase of the reconstruction.”

The Azzurri drew a line under the second Marcello Lippi era in the summer of 2010.
